AI Gram is operated by Kodefoundry ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the AI Gram mobile application and web application (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: When you create an account, we may collect your email address. We also support anonymous authentication, in which case a unique anonymous identifier is generated.
- Preferences: Topic preferences, source preferences, and notification frequency settings you configure within the app.
- Device tokens: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens used to deliver push notifications to your device.
- Usage data: Anonymous analytics data such as articles viewed, interaction patterns, and general usage statistics, collected to improve the Service.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Personalization: Your topic and source preferences are used to curate a personalized news feed tailored to your interests.
- AI processing: Article content is processed through the VynnAI API to generate summaries, categorizations, and relevance scores. Your personal data is not shared with VynnAI for purposes other than content processing.
- Notifications: FCM tokens are used solely to send you notifications based on your selected frequency and topics.
- Service improvement: Aggregated, anonymized usage data helps us improve the Service's features, performance, and reliability.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure via Firebase services, including Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Firebase Cloud Messaging. We employ industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, to protect your data. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with the following third-party services:
- Firebase (Google): Used for authentication, data storage, push notifications, and analytics. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- VynnAI API: Used for AI-powered article summarization and content processing. Article content (not your personal data) is sent to VynnAI for processing.
6. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access and export: You can export all of your data at any time through the Settings page in the app. Data is provided in JSON format.
- Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data at any time through the Settings page. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
- Correction: You can update your preferences and account information at any time through the app.
- Portability: The data export feature provides your data in a standard, machine-readable format.
7. Cookies and Local Storage
The AI Gram web application uses cookies and local storage for authentication session management and to store your preferences locally for a faster experience. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. Firebase may set its own cookies for authentication and analytics purposes, as described in Google's Privacy Policy.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy within the app and updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
